Here is my RECIPE of the week.  I LOVE CHOCOLATE.

I can’t press upon you enough to make these little squares from heaven.  They are decadent and delicious.  I’m a purest when it comes to chocolate and rarely do I like to use anything from a box, so these are right up my alley.  Because they are so rich and delicious NOTHING is needed to mix in the batter, but I always like a generous amount of sweetened whipped cream and either a strawberry or raspberry on top to enjoy.  I’ve never met a person who doesn’t like a rich brownie to enjoy after a long day at work, outside or dealing with kids.  Whip up a batch and enjoy the “Calgon take me away” moment we all long for at the end of the day.

Melt your butter and get excited.  Blend that smooth, warm goodness to your sugar, and vanilla.
Now stir in your eggs.  Beat them well.
In another bowl, combine your flour, cocoa powder, Baking Powder, and Salt.
 OH be still my soul.
MARRY these two amazing bowls together and stir with a good-ole wooden spoon
until completely mixed in and smelling like HEAVEN.
OH the temptation is beyond what you can imagine.
Pour ever so gently into a greased pan.  I did the big batch so my pan is about 15×10 (I think), but I prefer a thicker brownie so I usually use 9×13.  It was just being used at the time so I grabbed this one.  Place in oven for about 40-45 minutes.  I usually can smell when they are done.  Yes…I don’t time.
I’m one of “those” bakers.  I’ve not burned a batch yet. 🙂 Trust me, the NOSE KNOWS!
If you are really picky and time everything, about the 40 minute mark test with a toothpick.  If it comes out clean they are done.
Grab your kids, a couple plastic spoons, and go to town on the best batter you can imagine.
LOOK AT THIS!  Ahhhh….the moments, the smells…
I can hardly wait for them to cool (…sometimes I don’t and load a scoop of the warm brownie in a small bowl with a scoop of ice-cream).  Face it.  I’m obsessed with brownies. Chocolate.  You get the idea.
AND if you are feeling fancy… Scoop sweetened whipped cream, a strawberry/raspberry and a fresh mint leave on top.  Sit back, relax, and all your cares and troubles will melt away.  At least until it’s time for seconds.
