This recipe is perfection and happens to be my own creation. I worked on this recipe for over a year. Yes, I said A YEAR. I love cookies and I love oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, but just couldn’t find the perfect recipe so I decided to create my own.
Now, I was a little hesitant in sharing this one because it IS my own creation, but when you are excited about something and excited to tell people how awesome something is you’ve just got to do it! Similar to when I was singing my own songs in front of a crowd for the first time. I was afraid someone would hate it so it made me super nervous. However, I always had great response to my music so I’m feeling a little more confident (a little, not a lot) in sharing this recipe.
So here it is and I hope you enjoy it as much as everyone I’ve already made these for. This happens to be my sister Patrice’s and my son-in-law’s favorite cookie. It’s my go-to recipe. I could probably add a few more people but I don’t want to give away their cover and tell the world they actually eat sugar or in this case a whole batch of my cookies. lol
Gather these ingredients:
1 1/3 c Unsalted Butter, softened
1 c. Brown and White Sugar
2 t. Adams Extract Vanilla
2 1/3 c. All purpose Flour and Quaker Oats
1 t. Baking Soda and Salt
2 c. Chocolate Chips
Start by placing the butter, sugars and vanilla in your mixer bowl with the paddle attachment. Cream all of that together on low-med speed.
Then add the eggs one at a time and mix on medium speed until thoroughly mixed.
After mixing in the eggs you will add the salt and the baking soda and mix those in to the badder.
Then add the flour slowly on low speed and next the oatmeal. You can use either the quick rolled oats or regular oats. Both taste wonderful in this recipe.
Lastly add the chocolate chips. I prefer semi sweet, but you can add whatever chips you like. If you love a chunky chip then add those! The possibilities are endless.
Now that the cookie dough is done you are ready to scoop those onto a parchment lined cookie pan. I use my favorite scoop from pampered chef. I would say it’s one of my favorite kitchen tools. Click on the link below to get your own scoop today!
Look at THAT! So good. I love using this scoop because it helps all my cookies to be uniform in size.
That’s what I’m talking about! Now pop these boys into a preheated 350 degree oven for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
I can not express how happy these oatmeal chocolate chip cookies make me. Once you take them out of the oven, you can transfer them onto a cooling rack like the one I use in the picture and just TRY and wait for them to cool… just try. Like, for REALS. These are the real deal and I hope you will enjoy them and share some with those you love most.
Happy baking and creating,
