Our favorite STEW

We LOVE the cool fall evenings here in Utah when paired with our favorite stew recipe.

It may be a very hot July right now, but since we had a small "cold front" come through this week that took our temps back to the 90's (lol) it's got me feels BG like fall is just around the corner! Plus this meal is sooooooo easy to prep and there's never a drop left around here because it's so good.

So if you're like me and already dreaming of cool nights, crisp leaves falling and warm hearty recipes then this ones for you,


First you will need to brown 2 pounds of Stew meat with some salt and pepper and/or basic season salt. I make my own which is Paula Deens recipe. I go through that stuff like crazy. Works for all meats. Just mix 1 c. Kosher Salt, 1/4 c. Pepper, and 1/4 c. Garlic Powder together and store in a mason jar. Nothing better.

So now, prep your crockpot by using a crockpot liner like this one or spray with Pam for easy cleanup.

Next mix in a medium sized bowl 1 can Cream of Celery, 1 can Cream of Mushroom, 1 soup can full of water, and one small can of Tomato Sauce and pour in the crockpot.

Then peel and chop 4 small to medium potatoes and add to the pot.

Then add a small bag of baby carrots.

After that is added the meat should be ready. Just pour the browned meat with all the juices into the crockpot.

Lastly add one dry package of Lipton Onion Soup mix and then stir all that goodness together. This picture shows a double batch so don't freak out if yours looks less full. I've got to double up on this because this also freezes well and it's really too good not to share with friends. That is if Krista doesn't eat it all! Ha ha ha! For real though…she can't get enough of this stuff.

Now turn the crockpot to a low setting for at least 8 hours. My crockpot has a 10 hr setting so that's what I use.

So delicious. It's ready to put the cover on and let the crockpot do the rest. Best make ahead meal ever. This will also fill your home with the best smell and fill your stomach with happiness.

Told you it was easy. My daughter Krista CRAVES this stuff. She's been known to eat 2-3 bowls in one setting! She could eat this for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I'm not even kidding.

I love when she walks in the kitchen and instantly smiles and rushes over to hug me because she KNOWS what's cooking.

Food speaks to people which is one of the reasons I love to cook/bake. I'm all about creating memories… especially with delicious homemade comfort food.
